Taking a peek at this Lenny Kravitz designed modern classic in the Hollywood Hills.

Perched right above the Sunset Strip, and with a glass-walled pool that casts blue light outwards like a beacon, this is the Stanley House, which despite its relatively recent construction has become something of an icon of ultimate Hollywood living.

Designed by XTEN Architecture in the early 2010s, the home is inspired by midcentury modern forms, but with modern elements that make it feel ultra-luxe.

Huge, Swiss-made retractible windows line the outward-looking side of the house, opening the city out like a second living room. The interior program received a keen eye too: Lenny Kravitz, who grew up in a midcentury modern house in Baldwin Hills, and credits that time as his first real education in architecture and interiors.

Aiming to embody a "Soulful elegance", he fitted the interior out with a plush but restrained palette, including dark oak, travertine, lava rock, and leather.
