Lucas Scarfone drove his GT3 Touring 100,000 miles for charity.

I’ve been an automotive photographer in Toronto for almost 25 years. Through a series of stars aligning I had the opportunity in 2021 to option my first sports car, a 911 GT3 Touring. It was truly a dream come true. I was fortunate enough to secure the allocation through a friend who knew how I intended to use it, that it would end up in a great home and truly be enjoyed.

The spec is Forest Green Metallic over Mojave Beige with a 6-speed manual and comfort seats, which I thought best represented the Touring. My license plate is PESTOGT3 which reflects my love of Pasta, especially Pesto, and it’s widely known as the “Pesto GT3” in the Canadian automotive community.

In the 4 years since I purchased the car we have covered over 150,000km (155,343 to be exact, just shy of 100,000 miles). I’ve been incredibly fortunate to take this car on several road trips and have done over 55 track days behind the wheel. With the driving season being so short here in Toronto I knew that I wanted to drive the GT3 year round, some of my absolute favourite moments with this car have actually been in the winter.

When I purchased the car my goal was to raise at least $1 per kilometre driven for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Thanks to our incredibly supportive automotive community I’m proud to say that my Pesto GT3 has raised $315,000 so far. Every year we host an event called Drive 4 Smiles where we give seriously ill children and their families the opportunity to go for rides around the race track in a safe and controlled environment. I’m the Chairman for the event in Toronto and seeing how excited the kids get is truly the most rewarding part of owning this car.

It’s been great to see how many messages I’ve received from people who mention that I’ve inspired them to actually drive their cars as opposed to locking them away in the garage. My goal is to enjoy the car as much as possible while also raising funds and awareness for the amazing work that the Starlight Children’s Foundation does in the community.
