Three of Japan’s best custom Porsches under one roof.

Karrera and Cult Classics Garage, hailing all the way from the Philippines, took over a small piece of Tokyo and turned Podium Cafe into a car temple during Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 week.

Their theme, this time, was Porsche. They had a gorgeous 993 RS re-imagined by Madlane, as well as the ever-classic 996 Turbo brought in by our friend @singertracks. Despite such an amazing lineup, I couldn’t help but feel proud especially of the outdoor garage exhibition.

Karrera had reached out to me to find some special Porsches to display, and I had no hesitation in calling three of the most amazing builds to exist in Japan.

Hidaka-san rolled in with his genuinely unique 1970 Porsche 911S.
An M64 originally from a 90’s 964, genuine Porsche crank and camshafts, mechanical throttle, are only few of the treasures in the engine.

The interior, one-of-one wheel, bespoke one-of-two (maybe even one-of-one) dashboard, special-made transmission and pedal box. All of this wrapped in an unmistakable build and orange livery inspired by Gulf.

Yamanouchi-san blessed us with his bright yellow 911, with a whale tail likely transplanted from an older 911, replacing the original RSR’s metal wing, and a light (very light) 3.0L Carrera engine built to dominate the track.

Yuki Matsumoto decided to bring his show-stopper 911 to complete the most visually stunning display of European cars to grace Tokyo Car Week 2026.
