Pearl White

A quick drive along the lake with one of the most unique Porsche 959s ever built.

This pearl white 959 is a rarity among rarities. Among the three hundred or so of the model produced, it’s believed to be the only one that rolled out of the factory in this specification.

Perhaps slightly less uniquely, Davide Parmegiani wanted a 959 from a very young age, but let’s just say the 'standard' silver metallic examples are just a bit too ubiquitous for his taste, wouldn’t want to lose it in a car park after all. Speaking to Type 7, Davide details how he came across his car and why it’s holds a special place in his heart.

“Since I was young the 959 was always a target for my collection. When the car was presented at the end of the '80’s I immediately fell in love with it - the shapes, the design, and the performance to me were incredible.

When I had the possibility to start a collection of cars I always had in mind to own one, but my problem is that I am very particular about the aesthetics and the combination of colours, which most of the time for me is much more important than the value or the rarity of the car itself. That's why when I saw this car in 2010 in Italy, sitting in the garage of the original owner I completely lost my mind. I decided immediately that it was the car I wanted.

The specs are absolutely original and I truly believe almost unique because the pearl white metallic looks to be used by Porsche on this model in only two examples, but the full red Cartier leather interior is maybe unique on this combination. I truly love the car, to me it remains one of the greatest designs and beautiful sculptures of the 20th century”
