22 year old Oli walks us through the build process of his 911 S/T.

“Ever since I was young my passion for all things related to the automotive world has been dominated by the world of motorsports,” explains Oli, owner of this custom 911 S/T build. “I can’t really trace back where this passion arose from since neither my parents nor any other family members have had any affiliation for the automotive world. However, when being confronted with the whole automotive universe as a kid, hearing about the myth of Porsche is simply inevitable. They have been taking part and dominating all kinds of races in almost every decade ever since. So yes, the desire to get my hands on a Porsche was established pretty instantly.”

Getting into a car and simply taking it on roads that twist and turn as much as possible has been my escape from reality ever since I got my license,” the 22 year old explains. “While the world is becoming more and more digital and automated, I wanted a true classic sports car, a machine that needs to be operated manually and takes every bit of my attention and skill when driving dynamically: a car that excites all senses.

The goal was to build a fully personalised 911, while still staying true to the original racing DNA that lies within these cars. The end result should incorporate the unmatched class of a 911 longhood while still transferring the raw emotions of a 70s race car. The lesser known and rarely built 911 S/T, which was the first-ever customer race car offered by Porsche, quickly became the biggest inspiration.

It was at the peak of the Covid pandemic that I had just found a close to perfect base car for the project. A platinum metallic US spec 911 2.7S with a full black leather interior. The car had been sitting in some storage ever since the early 90s before being imported to Germany a few years ago. As the build progressed my girlfriend Kaja, who was somewhat critical at first, joined in more and more often, to the point where I have to admit that I couldn’t have done it without her. After the first three weeks of wrenching with her, my best friend Nico and my dad, we were standing in front of a bare naked chassis, a seemingly unsolvable puzzle of wires, screws and a pile of parts we couldn’t really identify at this point. Kaja took the project on just as if it was hers and together the final result is clearly both of our merit and everyone else involved along the way!”
