Some specs are just too good to resist.

“As much as I enjoyed the 964 RS and my old 993, having kids means I won’t have time to fool around with a project car anymore.”

Meet Billy, an avid collector whose air-cooled journey began in 2011 with a 993 Carrera 2. Not one to leave well enough alone, he started his own RS-conversion. Manual-swapped, repainted in Turquoise Blue followed by modifications with genuine factory parts. He then went on to acquire a Mint Green 964 RS—kept original before eventually finding its next custodian, followed soon after by the departure of the 993.

“I wasn’t desperately looking for a replacement when I sold the 964 and the 993; the Turbo was rather a coincidence.”

It was actually a friend who took notice of the 993 Turbo’s listing online. Together, they inspected the car, but his friend decided to walk away. Billy saw his window, stepped in, and seized the moment, taking home this Hong Kong-delivered, factory manual example.

“I have a soft spot for green, especially complex shades. This Turbo wears a chameleon coat and shifts its color depending on where it is and how the light hits it.”

Painted in Aventurine Green Metallic, the interior is blanketed in matching Porsche Exclusive Caramel leather spanning the headliner, dashboard, steering wheel, shifter, center console, handbrake, door panels, and a pair of body paint matched Hardback Sport Seats.

“You know—I’m getting old and fixed buckets aren’t my thing anymore… so this to me strikes the perfect balance for an analog yet pleasurable experience behind the wheel.”

As our conversation continued under bright, cloudless skies, the paint seemed to answer back, echoing the deep, infinite blue from above.
