Warsaw hosts the first European instalment of Air|Water at an abandoned railway station.

Reporting back from Poland with snapshots of the European edition of Air|Water, the international Porsche event curated by the team behind Luftgekühlt. Now a few years on from its first outing, Air|Water celebrates a different side to the Porsche back catalogue than the one we’re often accustomed to seeing.

Yes, the air-cooled 911 presence remains strong at these events, but here the spotlight is just as often given to the deeper cuts of Porsche canon and the many ways the local community makes these cars their own. Alongside more modern Porsches there are a whole host of custom transaxle models, historic racing prototypes and even long-retired concept cars like the 2011 918 RSR come here to be unearthed and put public display.

Held for the first time in Europe, last week’s edition of Air|Water was held in Warsaw’s Nocny Market on the platforms of what was once the Główna railway station.

Though long decommissioned, many of the station buildings remain and a string of old locomotives still line the platforms as part of the Warsaw Railway Museum display.

It’s venues like these that entice us to return to Luftgekühlt and Air|Water events year after year, where we’re sure to find the best that the continually growing Porsche community has to offer both within and far beyond the flat-6 pantheon.
