The Final Dakar

The Final Dakar

The one-off Sonderwunsch special built to celebrate the end of Porsche’s 911 Dakar production run.

The last of 2500 built, Porsche celebrated the end of the 911 Dakar production run recently with the handover of this very special Sonderwunsch example, meticulously customised by Luca Trazzi to sport a unique Signal Yellow and Gentian Blue paint scheme.

The striking design evokes the iconic look of the victorious Porsche 953 from the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally, with the addition of the yellow upper half.

The two colour blocks are divided by a thin stroke of light blue, christened Lampedusa Blue, in tribute to the Mediterranean waters surrounding the island of the same name, a place very close to Luca’s life.

The colours carry on to the wheels and even the accent ring in the headlights, all of which had to be executed by hand.

Inside, more yellow appears in the stitching, the trim strips on the dashboard, the centre console, the door panels and the ‘911 Dakar’ embroidered lettering in the headrests.

To finish it all off, the door sills read ‘911 Final Dakar’ in blue, a lasting reminder that this was the end of the line for Porsche’s unique rally-inspired 911 variant.
