Ariadna Albiach and her underdog Porsche

"My dad introduced me to classic cars when I was really young," explains Ariadna Albiach, as we stand in front of her humble 914, the car that started a journey and would ultimately lead to her life's calling - getting her hands dirty with classic cars on a daily basis.

“He taught me everything I know and helped me develop the deep love and appreciation I have for them. The day I turned eighteen, I found a key, with a Porsche keychain attached. It belonged to a Zambezi Green 914, parked outside my house. Little did I know that was going to be my first car, a gift from my dad."

This gifted 914, Ariadna says, sparked many things inside her. "I decided from that moment on that I wanted to be involved with classic cars in every single way."

It didn't take long for Ariadna to find her direction, pursuing a career as a mechanic and applying for a job at a local classic Porsche shop two weeks after finishing her studies.

"Little did I know, that was going to be my first car."

It's a few years later now, but Ariadna's fire and passion for her work, and the shared experiences with her dad that gave way to the humble 914 that started it all, are all still burning as strong as ever. Apparently, the passion is rubbing off on her dog Mia, who frequently accompanies her on her weekend drives through the Spanish backcountry.

“While the 914 is still considered a 'poor man's Porsche' by some people, love every feeling I get from driving it - from the driving position, the weight distribution, how it handles twisty roads. I forget the number that follows the 9, and just enjoy it."
