Daikoku PA

The Forza Horizon trailer might have just dropped but nothing beats the real thing: here’s our favourites from a visit to Daikoku PA during Tokyo Car Week.

The legendary parking area sits in the middle of a towering overarching highway network and quickly became an iconic meeting point for every type of car you can imagine. JDM icons, VIP sedans, kei cars, exotics. Everything shows up here eventually. During our visit though, we went for one reason though - to see how Japan’s Porsche culture would show up.

You never know what the day will look like until you pull in. A few 911s might be scattered across the lot. Or you may run into rare examples like the Carrera GT, and that unpredictability is precisely what makes Daikoku so special. Each car arrives casually, like it’s a routine way to spend a Sunday morning, which for many of them, it is.

Without any grand setup or staging, the lot feels welcoming. The cars are easily accessible and their owners eager to share their passion and connect with friends, new and old.

We chased down as many Porsches as we could, modern or classic, modified or purist, it didn’t matter. The point was seeing how owners here express the brand in their own way and we can confirm that Daikoku gives an honest snapshot of the local Porsche community, one car at a time.

Unpredictability is precisely what makes Daikoku so special. Each car arrives casually, like it’s a routine way to spend a Sunday morning, which for many of them, it is.
