Scenes from Hollywood's ultimate party pad.

Disco Volante is Italian for “flying saucer.” It’s also the name of the luxury yacht in the Bond film Thunderball, which tells you most of what you need to know about the vibe that this extraordinary house from Vantage Design Group is operating in.

After spending seven years in construction above the Sunset Strip, it has quickly become an icon in a neighbourhood full of them, drawing on mid-century modernism and a material palette assembled from across four continents, thanks to interior design from interior designer Victoria Gillet.

Arabian black slate and Shou Sugi Ban features on the exterior, Roman travertine and Brazilian jade onyx within. Right now we’re imagining ourselves in photographer Lawrence Fitzsimon's shoes, who pulled up in a 3.2 Carrera for the shoot, and dreaming of a hilltop party.

You’re all invited–if you get lost, just remember that the nightclub is underground, and you can find it by pulling a sword from the wall.
